The Commandments of God and Man
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am
Matthew 28:20
with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
These are the very last words of Jesus Christ our Lord as he was leaving the earth. He gave all believers a teaching mandate. And this mandate is what forms the basis of all teaching platforms in the body of Christ-Bible-study, Discipleship class etc. Teaching is a core content in the Kingdom. From Inception God has always communicated to man the way he wants man to relate with Him and relate with his fellow men, other creations. God through instructions and commandments defined boundaries, limits, rights. Obligations, responsibilities, expectations, warnings, guidance, counsel, and insights into mysteries. Everyman that God has related from the beginning has been given instructions to abide by from the first Adam till the Last man Used by God in the scriptures. We have a holy duty to critically focus on the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. In this Study we shall be examining what are commandments and why commandments and what happens to those who trivialise Gods commandments.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT GOD’S COMMANDMENT
- Our divided hearts and lustful eyes are the key enemies that contends with us in keeping to Gods
commandment: Numbers 15:39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and
remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: - Greatness is not by so many means or methods being propagated by men today. Many people seek
greatness in many ways, but true greatness comes when we keep God’s commandment. Many
People Just think that Abraham was a lucky man to be blessed. Abraham paid the price of obedience
to Gods command: Genesis 26: (2) And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: (3) Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; (4) And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Psalm 112:1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. - The Antidote to so many sicknesses and secret of Long Life is tied to obedience to Gods
commandments. Aligning with Gods commandment is your clean bill of health: Exodus 15:26 And
said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. - Many cry for mercy but they hardly find mercy. Many tie mercy to the fact that you can do as you
please God will still show you mercy…but the truth is Mercy comes when we keep his commandments. A sinner cannot obtain mercy if he fails to come to Christ by accepting Him.
Exodus 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. - Commandments are received to be taught they are not meant for the archives as a souvenir they are
to be taught for the purpose of abiding by them: Exodus 24:12 And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. - Ignorance of Gods commandment is not an excuse. That You don’t know them and not been taught
does not exonerate you on the last day: Leviticus 4:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: (14) When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation. - Willful disobedience to Gods commandment passes a guilty sentence on that individual.
Leviticus 5:17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. - Not doing Gods commandment is profaning his Holy Name: Leviticus 22:31-32 Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord. (32) Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you,
- Many things we are struggling hard to get and praying hard to have lies in simple obedience to
Gods commandment. Its good to ASK God for rain and increase. But its better and easier to OBEY
God for rain and Increase: Leviticus 26:3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; (4) Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. - The Promise of Over-flow and Peace. Prosperity of Our Business Endeavours.: 5 And your threshing
shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your
bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. - Divine Security and Mighty Deliverance and All round Victory: 6 And I will give peace in the land,
and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land,
neither shall the sword go through your land. 7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall
before you by the sword. 8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. - Fruitfulness, Multiplication and Divine Establishments. 9 For I will have respect unto you, and
make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. - The New will meet the Old: 10 And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the
new. - The Abiding Presence of God.11 And I set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor
you.12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people - A very easy way to end unending struggle in life is to stop struggling with the truth of God’s Word.
His commandments. Those that struggles to keep his commandments ends up struggling in many
areas of life. Deuteronomy 4:40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever. - Gods keeps Covenant to those that keep his commandments. Your Covenant rights accrues to you
unhindered when you give Gods commandment the priority in your life: Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; - Gods commandment Can be Forgotten. It is our duty not forget them: Deuteronomy 8:11 Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
- Curses are always close to those that Ignore and despise Gods Commandments: Deuteronomy 11:28
And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. - Length of Days is A reward for Commandment Keepers: 1 Kings 3:14 And if thou wilt walk in my
ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

commandments. - Hoping on Them. Psalm 119:166 Lord, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments.
