INTIMACY WITH GOD, THE SECRET PLACE

Text: Psalm 27:4

“One [thing] have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.”

Every statement a man makes is the function of the position of his heart. The scripture we just read talks of the heart of a man that is seeking something, and his heart is hinged on just on a particular thing. If there is any place you need to be, desire and long for that place is beyond Church or any other location that may seem desirable, so many people may desire to be in London, America, or any part of the world it is good, but there is a place that is beyond all these places and this place is called the Secret Place, a place that only you and GOD communicate, it is a place of deep communion and it is a place where you pour out all your problem before your creator. In this place there is no hidden thing, no hindrance, it is a place that you have decided to short in with GOD where you come naked and where there is no secret between you and Christ, it is a place where you find joy, peace, comfort, a place where your burdens (pains, tears, and worries) are answered, it is a place of hope and deliverance, it is a place where everything that was dead comes back life, it is a place of revelation, beloved you are invited to this place.

May the LORD draw us to His secret place. The psalmist said in the book of “Psalm 91:1 – “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

When you come to the secret place, no matter how weak or frustrated you are there is restoration, “today the LORD will restore you”. That was the place David went to in “1 Samuel 30:3 – So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, [it was] burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.

4 – Then David and the people that [were] with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

5 – And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

6 – And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

(Beloved, lift up your eyes and voice to the LORD (The secret place) for in the secret place that is where your help is.)

7 – And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

8 – And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake [them], and without fail recover [all].

9 – So David went, he and the six hundred men that [were] with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.

17 – And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.”

From the scriptures above we could see how the entire camp attributed all their woes to one man and they were determined to stone him. But when you come into the secret place the same people that were against you will begin to fight for you and assist you.

beloved are you seeking for assistance? are you looking for the help of man? “Go to the Secret place, the one that holds the heart of men will turn all men to your direction.

If you are looking for help or you want something to change drastically, seek the secret place. The secret place is not all about the church but a personal place with you and your creator.

In the secret place, you can find the keys to every door, you can change the climatic condition to favor you or otherwise. Elijah went to the secret place and he changed the weather. There is no other place like the secret place.

If there is a place you must not stop or give up on, it is the place of intimacy. Keep on in the place of intimacy, sometimes it may be as if GOD is not hearing, it may be as if nothing is happening, just like Elijah who prayed the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth time in the place of intimacy and there seems to be no response, but he did not give up till the seventh time, in the seventh time the heavens were opened. (In the name of Jesus your heavens will be opened as you stay continually in the secret place)

Beloved don’t let anything take the presence of God from you, no matter the defeat, no matter the sorrow, no matter the pain, decide not to give up on GOD. Don’t stop! Although man may not hear you but GOD will definitely hear.

Beloved, I invite you today, to the secret place with the LORD, decide today to visit that place and your life will never be the same.

The LORD says “Draw nigh to me and I will draw nigh to you (James 4:8)”, today the door of the secret place is open, how many of you will like to enter?

 

Prayers:

If you have decided today lift up your hands and say;

Father, this is my hand, I am signing up today that I will stay here until you answer me.

I will remain in your presence until I hear your voice.

Father number me among them that will find you in the secret place.

From today I receive the hunger, the desire, and passion for the secret place. In Jesus’ name. amen.

Thank you for making a wise decision today, this desire will not leave you in Jesus’ name.
